On your marks...

Hi everyone, hope your festivities are still in full swing! Here's what we've been upto in the last few days...

On Boxing day, it was the famous Sydney to Hobart boat race. So along with most of the other Sydney-siders we went to Watsons Bay to watch the amazing sailboats leave the harbour and venture out into the Ocean. It was a gorgeous day, even hotter than Christmas day, about 30degrees.

After the race we spent the afternoon, walking along the beaches around Watsons Bay and enjoying the Aussie sunshine.

We also visited Palm Beach (aka Summer Bay, from Home & Away), which was brilliant, even if we didn't get to met the Aussie legend himself, Mr Alf Stewart!

Well it's New Years Eve tomorrow....good bye 2006 and g'day 2007! We are really excited as we have a special harbour cruise booked for tomorrow night, which is an extra special one for Sydney this year. It's called a 'Diamond night in the Emerald City' and they are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Harbour Bridge with about $4 million's worth of fireworks! Woohoo! It's also our 5yr anniversary together, blimey!

Anyways,
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
We hope you all have a fantastic 2007 and we look forward to seeing you all again soon. Only 52 days to go! xxx Have a great one!

Shrimp on the Barbie!

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas! Hope you all had a fantastic day. We had a brilliant first Christmas away from home, in sunny Sydney. We celebrated the day with 8 other housemates and had a true Aussie Xmas lunch with fillet steak, sausages and good old shrimps on the barbie!
The day was lovely and sunny, so we all chilled in the backyard with our tinnies, while Ad cooked us up a treat on our new barbie.

We had so much food on the table - it was ridiculous! We had 60 odd sausages, 1.5 kg of tiger prawns, 5kg of gammon ham, steaks, chicken, fish, rolls and salads.... it was definitely a proper Christmas feast Down Under. By the end of it all we felt so stuffed that we needed to collapse on the sofa and Adam was jumping around the lounge, keen to open his pressies! Thank you so much again everyone, they were all fantastic and some were a real giggle too!

Once all the presents were open, we just had to head off to Bondi Beach to check out the surfers, enjoy the sun and chillout on the sand. The atmosphere was great and we really had a fantastic Christmas, one to always remember....

*** MERRY CHRISTMAS MATEYS ***

Merry Christmas everyone from Down Under!
Sorry we can't be with you today to enjoy the Christmas turkey, merry drinks and family cheer, but we're both thinking of you all in good olde Blighty! Have a great one, and we'll see you all in a couple of months!

Ho Ho Ho

Well it's 2 days til Christmas and we can't wait to spend this Christmas Down Under, with a good old barbie, some ice cold tinnies and soaking up some Aussie rays on Bondi Beach (hopefully)! Christmas feels really strange over here compared to back home, as the focus is all about the summer holidays and yet there are still a few odd shop windows with snowmen and elves - very strange! To get us in the Christmas spirit we decided to meet up with Emily for 'Carols in the Domain' one weekend. It was basically a huge free christmas concert with Santa, the wiggles (like teletubbies), young divas (a terrible aussie girl band) and a few other Aussie singers. It was good giggle and we even saw Santa!!!

Take us to your leader

All hail Nick, master of all. Mighty fisherman, doofer extrodinaire, and king of the BBQ!

Please forgive our admission of your genius in our previous posts, you are sorely missed and not forgotten! Our time in Stratford would have amounted to nothing without your awe inspiring presence.

We love you Nick!

(and he's not ginger, he's a strawberry blonde!!)

**** HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM ****

Happy Birthday mum! Hope you're having a great day in Bangkok. Shame we couldn't stretch out your time in Oz abit longer but at least we had girlie cocktails in the tower. We're both thinking of you today and hope you have a good trip back to London tonight. Lots of Love Alexia & Adam xxxxx

The Seabrook's hit Oz

Well mum and dad have finally left the Emerald city and we've had a brilliant time all together. We've mostly been doing the usually tourist bits such as the Aquarium, monorail, Opera House, Manly, Skytower, the Rocks and Botanical Gardens. It's all involved alot of eating and drinking - true Aussie style! Dad's been enjoying the ice cold tinnies while mum's been snapping away... non-stop!

Second night in Sydney, enjoying a great Tapas on the Harbour

Darling Harbour

Mum and dad also surprised us with stockings, cards and a great little portable xmas tree one arvo. Thank you so much everyone for our lovely pressies and cards, we're really looking forward to being big kids on xmas day tearing off all the wrapping paper! We haven't really made any plans yet for xmas day but we are thinking about having a proper Aussie barbie and spending the arvo on Bondi Beach soaking up the sun.

Santa's come early...

On mum & dad's last day in Sydney we decided to take them on a ferry to Watson's Bay to stroll along 'The Gap' and to also experience 'Doyles' seafood restaurant. The 106 yr old restaurant was voted Ainsley Harriet's No1 best food in the world, so we had to give it a bash! It was fab, not only did the food taste amazing, but we also had the best view across the harbour at the city skyline...perfect!

We also went out one night to the skytower, which is alittle like the BT tower in London and has amazing views of Sydney. We sat in the revolving bar as we sipped on our cocktails, very civilised for us backpackers!

One of our last nights together in Sydney

We really had a great time and now looking forward to seeing everyone when we get home... only 74 days to go! xxx

Poms Downunder

Well the day finally arrived on Wednesday, mum and dad flew from Cairns and arrived in Sydney. Their flight arrived in around 6pm, so we decided to give them abit of a surprise... we turned up to their hotel and sneaked into their hotel room, our very own little stake out!

I was so excited. I laid on their bed, while Ad hid in the ensuite ready to film it all. As dad walked in, he was absolutely gobsmacked...he thought he'd walked into the wrong room, then realised who it was. I don't think i've ever seen my dad speechless before... As for mum, she just threw her arms around me and wouldn't let go, I was a great welcome! Lots of screaming, laughing and shock faces!

After scaring them half to death we all needed a drink to recover, so we headed down to their hotel bar for a few schooners of Aussie beer.

It's really great to finally see them here in Sydney and we're really looking forward to a week of sight seeing and catching up...we'll keep you posted!
